Overview
Genyo: Sixteen Nights Reincarnation was the company's highest performing live service title, consistently delivering the strongest player engagement and revenue across the portfolio.
I joined the project during the final months of my time at the company to support the art production for one of its largest annual live events, the "Heirs of the Stars" 3rd Anniversary Event. Unlike my previous projects, my objective was not to redesign existing workflows, but to help deliver a major event while preserving the visual consistency and production quality that players had already come to expect.
My Contributions
- Supported the visual production for the 3rd Anniversary Event.
- Planned and coordinated player-facing event visuals and announcement assets.
- Worked closely with the Malaysia-based art team to deliver event marketing materials.
- Maintained visual consistency with the game's established Live Operations style.
- Contributed to one of the company's highest-performing live service projects.
Background
Unlike the other titles I had worked on, Genyo was already a well established success. The game maintained stable revenue, healthy player activity, and a mature Live Operations pipeline.
The project did not require significant changes or new operational strategies. Instead, the priority was executing a large-scale anniversary event without disrupting the established quality and visual identity that players already recognized.
Challenge
The largest challenge was maintaining consistency.
The anniversary event featured the return of one of the game's most popular character series, alongside newly released costumes and limited-time content. Because these characters already had a dedicated player base, every visual asset needed to align with the game's existing style and player expectations.
Rather than introducing unnecessary changes, the focus was delivering a polished event while maintaining consistency across all player facing materials.
My Responsibilities
I supported the visual production for the "Heirs of the Stars" 3rd Anniversary Event, producing and coordinating announcement graphics, promotional materials, event visuals, and other Live Operations assets required throughout the campaign.
Unlike previous projects where I coordinated across multiple international teams, this project focused primarily on collaborating with the Malaysia-based art team to deliver production assets on schedule.
Because the project's Live Operations strategy had already been validated through years of successful service, I deliberately chose not to introduce new workflows or visual changes. Instead, I focused on maintaining quality, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring every deliverable aligned with the game's established identity.
Impact
The anniversary event was delivered according to schedule while maintaining the visual quality and consistency expected from one of the company's most successful live service titles.
This project reinforced an important lesson for me, successful production management is not always about introducing change. Sometimes, the greatest value comes from recognizing what already works, respecting an established prodction pipeline, and executing it reliably at a high standard.
